Bar Coast sits on Old Christchurch Road in the heart of Bournemouth town centre, a short walk from the Square and the main shopping streets. It's built around two moods in one venue, an easy-going cocktail bar early on, and a DJ-led late-night spot as the evening wears on.
Drinks and food
The cocktail menu covers crafted classics designed to work from the first round through to last orders, backed up by a light bites menu of pizzas and loaded nachos meant for sharing while the drinks keep coming. Tuesday to Friday, a happy hour runs from 6pm to 8pm with 50% off drinks, a good window for an after-work catch-up before the room fills up.
Evenings and events
Doors open at 6pm with a relaxed lounge feel, but the atmosphere builds through the night. From around 10pm, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, Bar Coast shifts into a livelier club setup with DJs, a dancefloor and ticketed weekend events. VIP tables, booths and bottle packages are available for groups, birthdays and other celebrations, and private hire can be arranged directly with the venue. It's an 18+ venue that encourages responsible drinking.
Good to know
Bar Coast is closed on Mondays. It opens 6pm–2am Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday, 6pm–3am on Fridays, and 10pm–3am on Saturdays, with seasonal daytime events from 2pm. Hours and events can shift with the seasons, so check the venue's website or Instagram (@bar.coast) before heading down, particularly for weekend bookings.
