Drax Studio is a fine-art gallery and dealer on Haven Road in Poole, not far from the harbour. Formerly trading as Canvas Gallery, whose old web address now simply redirects to the gallery's current site, it operates today under the Drax Studio and Drax Gallery names, selling original works, fine-art photography and limited-edition prints to collectors in the UK and abroad.
What's on show
The gallery deals in work by well-known names, including portraits and prints by photographer Terry O'Neill CBE, paintings by James Green, known as "The Artful Green," who paints each piece in a single, unrevised sitting, and archive rock photography from the 1980s. Its Poole space has also hosted themed shows, among them a 2025 exhibition of David Bowie photographs drawn from Geoff MacCormack's archive.
Visiting and buying
Drax Studio pairs its Poole gallery with an online store and worldwide shipping, describing itself as a long-standing resource for collectors across the USA, Middle East, Far East and Europe. Public opening hours for the Haven Road premises aren't published, so it's worth calling ahead on 01202 509933 or emailing info@drax.studio before making a special trip.
